Summer programs take place onsite at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church. The Sunshine Club is not affiliated with Diamond Lake Lutheran and is a secular program. WE WILL NOT BE SWIMMMING OR PLAYING IN DIAMOND LAKE!
Please note that The Sunshine Club is a screen-free environment, kids' phones and electronic devices will not be allowed at camp.
NOTE: If your child has a physical disability, a mental or behavioral health diagnosis (or known mental or behavioral health challenges) or has a history of physically running away from adults or groups into unsafe situations outside of safety boundaries (i.e. running into the street despite being aware of safety rules and being asked to stop), please CONTACT US before registering.
Every child and every situation is different, so we may be able to accommodate your family safely in a way that fully supports all kids. However, we are a very small organization and are unable to provide dedicated, one-on-one support for children with high-level needs. Please discuss with us before registering and we can let you know if The Sunshine Club summer program is a good fit.
The Sunshine Club’s programming is open to children ages 3-10. We DO NOT have the facilities or personnel to perform diaper changes. We ask that all participants be using the toilet reasonably reliably. Disposable training pants (such as Pull-Ups or similar) are fine. NAP TIME WILL NOT BE OFFERED.
Lunch and snack times are built into each day. Participants are expected to bring their own lunch and snacks from home. We offer refrigerators to keep food chilled, as needed. Due to food allergies, The Sunshine Club is a peanut- and tree nut-free environment. Please let us know if your child has any food allergies and we can add those foods to the “do not bring” list.
The Sunshine Club programming is designed to take place outdoors and as much time will be spent outdoors as long as the weather allows. When there is extreme heat, inclimate weather or dangerous outdoor air quality, we will utilize our indoor spaces.
Due to highly infectious measles outbreaks around the country, all participating children are required to be up to date on all age-appropriate MMR vaccines at the time of participation. If your child is medically exempt from one or more vaccines, they are still eligible to participate. We are ONLY able to offer medical exemptions and require a doctor’s note to confirm.
Due to our small group sizes, space is extremely limited. Register today!
